I bought my first computer, a shiny new Northgate, a Wacom tablet and Painter solely for the purpose of drawing.
Along the way, my interest in computers overtook my desire to draw.
I became a full fledged computer geek and went for nearly 15 years without drawing
anything.
Recently the tide turned and now computers interest me about as much as
toasters.
I've gone back to drawing.
As I became reacquainted, I realized a few things.
Working on paper is much harder than I remembered.
I still have some basic talents but I've really got A LOT to learn..
An old guy can only make so much progress when working at home and alone.
I'm not as autodidactic as I used to be.
These are some of the reasons why I decided on
Going Back to school.
I still use Painter to draw with. It's a great tool for practicing while
saving on material costs.
I don't consider it appropriate to use for final products anymore though.
