Shock collars

I've tried several other brands along the way, but have decided that TriTronics is the best product & I am sticking with them. I started with the old gold units that had a maximum range of about 1/4 mile. I've had six or seven different units over the years and I'm currently using the Field 70. I have a few bark eliminators too.

Here are a few of the things that I like about the Field 70:

No more plugs! I can't tell you how many of these I lost with my old collars.

No more antenna on the collar! On the old style collars I went through a lot of antennas. Replacement antennas cost over $20 and that added up pretty fast.

An LED indicator on the collar tells me when the collar is turned on AND if it needs charging.

TriTronics finally provided some good information about charging and testing batteries.

Smaller and lighter collar.

Of course, the Field 70 is not perfect & here are a few thing that need improvement:

Sometimes it is hard to turn the collar off.

Sometimes the collar turns off by itself.

The charging plug on the collar is pretty flimsy.

I have had a lot of problems over the years with all of my units previous to the Field 70. TriTronics finally has addressed the majority of these and the current product works a lot better and is much more reliable. If you stopped using TriTronics in the late 80's or early 90's, it might be time to take another look.
